Welcome to Jass Simmentals

Founded in 1883, Jass family farms is a Century Farm located southwest of Garner in north central Iowa. We run a diversified operation raising corn, soybeans, alfalfa, cattle, and hogs.

In the late 1970’s we purchased our first Simmental heifer from Bill Pischel from Nebraska. Our focus turned to producing black Simmental in 1992 when we bought our first black female from John Christensen from South Dakota.

Most of our cattle are black with a handful of reds. The majority of our herd is built from heifers our kids have shown. Many of our donor cows are past show heifers.

We have been enrolled in the American Simmental Association’s THE program for many years. Family members involved in the Simmental program include Alan and Margaret, Steve, Nancy, Chase, and Trey, and Beth, Courtney, and Kiersten.
